My husband, Chris, and I are in the process to adopt number two, this time an 11-year-old boy that we met last September in Ethiopia. Our first son is just 17 months old, so we're scared to death about all that comes along with an older child — the communication gap, middle school homework, soccer games, etc. But our biggest concerns? Bonding with our son and helping him grow spiritually.
One way we plan to do this is through family nights. I'm sure your family, like ours, is so busy that it's difficult to be intentional about growing together as a family. Therefore, I'm so excited to have found a new website called Family Muscle (
www.familymuscle.com) that's taken the guesswork out of having an easy, fun, yet still creative family night centered around God's Word.
Started by two pastors and their wives,
Family Muscle offers proven tips for beginning a family night, suggestions for family night themes with relevant Scriptures — and the best part — downloadable PDFs for a variety of family night themes with suggested activities, approximate time and cost involved, as well as a devotional to share with your family.
Be sure to check out
Family Muscle's first giveaway for a Do-It-Yourself Family Night, which includes a $15 Walmart gift card, a fondue pot for the DIY dessert, and a special craft designed just for your family. Learn more
